From Art Gallery On My Desk.
Dear Reader,
Welcome to my very first blog post. Thank you for being here. Thank you in advance for staying & reading through.
I was in a weird space mentally. I did not realise but I was struggling with art. I was searching, trying, experimenting a lot with lot of styles, mediums, products. What I was looking for (& mostly failing to find) was that one thing that I want to call my own. I thought I was looking for a 'style' or a medium of art that was 'mine' but I was looking for a lot more & I did not realise it till I found it.
It was an online course that helped me. I will tell you about the course sometime soon, because I am working on something special related to it & rather keep it a surprise for now. But I will give you a "small" hint, it lead me into wonderful world of miniatures.
So now I had (still have) lot of projects in my head & wanted to explore, learn & practice making miniature artworks so I can bring those projects to life. So after some YouTube searches, started painting on MDFs. They are easy to cut to size, sturdy & easy to paint on. & perfect for what I had in mind. Initially I was just painting to see if I could do it, then as I started having fun, I realised, these could be turned into something practical to use. I did debate between turning them into pendants (might still do it at some point) but pins felt right.

One of the first pin designs I started with.
& here I experienced what people mean when they say that you need to keep making, creating, & ideas & perfection will follow. The idea slowly evolved. First it was just a piece of MDF with hand-painted designs. then they were pins with hand-painted designs. Then as I was making frames for my other smaller paintings, I realised these would look great with frames too!. Then as I was researching miniatures, I was people doing this small 'art gallery' setups & it all finally fell into place. & whole concept of 'Tiny Paintings But They Are Really PIns' was born! Though these are still not perfect & have so much room for improvement, this ideas was so much fun that I had to try it out right now. As I am posting these I have already have started working on my next 'collection' as well as have some ideas for display as well.

Also working on the other miniature projects side by side & my biggest challenge is how to use time most effectively. One things is certain though, I am going to learn a lot & going to have a lot of fun while doing so. will share my experiences, successes & failures here. So do keep checking this space for updates.
Bye till then. Off to crafting stuff.
